VCD Ney Training Method 2
The oldest finding of the ney, which is thought to have been used by the Sumerians since 5000 BC, is the ney that dates back to 2800-3000 BC and is currently exhibited at Philadelphia University in the USA. It is thought that the instrument was used in religious ceremonies during that period. The ney, which the Turks began to use after accepting Islam, became the symbol of Islamic mysticism from the 13th century onwards. The great mystic, poet and saint Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, who lived in this century, played a major role in this.
The second part of this training method includes combining the 2nd blow sounds with the 1st blow sounds and related sketches, as well as demonstrating the Hicaz, Kürdi, Rast, Uşşak and Hüseyni makams on the ney and teaching the works related to these makams.
