The newest addition to MOTU's popular award-winning UltraLite series is the UltraLite AVB. It features an 18-input-18-output audio interface, DSP mixing, Wi-Fi control, AVB audio networking, and best-in-class analog sound quality for mobile audio recording.
36 simultaneous audio channels
It is the model that offers the most I/O in the UltraLlite series.
It provides a total of 18 inputs and 18 outputs with 2 microphone inputs, 2 guitar inputs, 6 line inputs, 8 line outputs, headphone output and 8 channels of optical I/O. The optical inputs also support stereo TOSlink (optical S/PDIF).
The UltraLite AVB is a model that sets new standards in analog audio performance among mobile audio interfaces with its 117dB dynamic range. Other audio interface models that measure this performance are worth thousands of dollars.
Universal connection
Connection via Ethernet and USB 2.0.
UltraLite AVB connects to your computer via USB 2.0 (compatible with USB 3.0 and iOS). Alternatively, if you have a Mac running OS x Yosemite (10.10), you can use a standard Ethernet cable. Either way, AVB is compatible with all audio software.
DSP powered mixing
Console style mixing with 12 buses and 48 channels
The UltraLite AVB's mixer is very different from its predecessors. It is similar to the mixers on the MOTU 1248 and 16A interfaces. If you are used to working on large format consoles, you will feel right at home. If you have never had the chance to mix on a large format console, now is the time!
Modeled analog EQ and compression
British analogue mixing consoles are renowned for their musical EQ profiles. The UltraLite AVB has carefully modelled these classic EQs. Each input channel has a classic compressor peak/RMS operation.
The groups and main mix bus section are equipped with MOTU's Leveler, a model of the legendary Teletronix LA-2A optical level amplifier.
Web application control
You can control everything from your laptop, tablet or smart device.
The software you use to control UltraLite is a web application, not on your computer's hard drive. This means you can control DSP, mixing, device settings, and network audio routing from multiple platforms. It doesn't matter if you're running Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, or Android, as long as you're on the same network.
Stand-alone mixing with wireless control
Control everything from your iPad or iPhone.
Connect UltraLite to an Apple Airport or Wi-Fi network with a standard Ethernet cable and control AVB's powerful DSP effects from your smart device, tablet or computer. An incredible feature for live sound mixing!
