The Earthworks SR25 Gen 2 is a condenser microphone specifically designed for capturing cymbals and hi-hats in live performances and studio recording sessions. The microphone's supercardioid pickup pattern provides exceptional rejection of off-axis signals and noise from room ambience, instruments, monitor speakers, and similar sources.
The condenser element provides a warm, transparent sonic character with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 25 kHz. The capsule is rated at 148 dB SPL, providing exceptional reproduction of vocal peaks without distortion or overload. The SR25 Gen 2 is powered by 48V phantom power and includes a microphone clip, foam windshield, and storage bag.
New Active Electronics
The internal electronics have been hardened to draw less phantom power, and additional protection features have been added to guard against accidental hot swapping. We all know you shouldn’t plug in a condenser microphone with the power on, but sometimes in the field it’s unavoidable. This new batch of changes makes the SR25 Gen 2 more robust, more compatible, and more user-friendly.
