Roy Benson TB-301 - 3 Piston Tuba
Gewa was founded in 1925 by Georg Walther in Adorf, Germany. This area was home to famous musicians and musical instrument makers. Gewa products and services have developed in line with the specific needs and priorities of its customers. Today, Gewa offers musical instruments not only in the export market but also produced in Asian factories. The tuba is a wind instrument with a wide, conical tube and piston, usually made of brass or copper. The tuba is the lowest-pitched of all wind instruments. Orchestras usually have one tuba. Like the double bass, which provides bass tone for stringed instruments, the tuba also accompanies brass wind instruments with bass tone. The tuba's curved body, which widens and opens towards the end, ends with a bell-shaped bell. The mouthpiece is funnel-shaped. As with the trumpet, there are additional tubes on the body called coils that produce sounds at different pitches, and a piston mechanism that opens and closes these tubes. Today, there are quite different models of the tuba used in various countries.
