NEO’s flagship microphone and instrument cable, the QAC-202, has been in use for over five years since its launch. Combining high-quality audio recording with the robust reproduction of real sound, this product has been championed by those seeking higher-level sound in recording and other live environments. As hardware and software have evolved over time, so has the sound quality of music. This means that previously invisible sounds are now in focus and require more serious reproduction from cables. To meet this demand at a high level, NEO developed the QAC-202 based on user feedback. The QAC-222 is a new version of the QAC-202, a cable with even greater clarity and a wider expressive range while maintaining the compelling sonic presence of the QAC-202.
The QAC-222 series uses premium OFC conductor "C1011", which is entirely made in Japan. In addition, we developed a hardened and tuned conductor "HC-OFC" to optimize and better match the signal from instruments and microphones. The QAC-222 provides a wide range of sensitivity and professional sound that cannot be achieved with ordinary OFC cables for audio use, and also provides highly usable sound that does not lose presence in any frequency band. The QAC-222 follows the design of the QAC-202 and features the HC-OFC conductor.
The insulator covering the conductor is made of PE (polyethylene) with low dielectric properties. This suppresses the capacitance of the cable, reducing signal transmission loss and providing high frequency characteristics with good extension. LDPE (low density polyethylene) is used for the inner sheath covering the insulator. By setting the inner sheath to a different hardness than that of the insulator, the vibrations transmitted to the cable are effectively suppressed and a sharper sense of localization is achieved. "QAC-222 series" expands the possibilities of musical expression while maintaining the philosophy of "QAC-202".
