PULSAR-23 is an organic drum machine designed by Vlad Kreimer. It has a semi-modular structure and consists of 23 independent modules. PULSAR can be used for the synthesis of percussions and rhythms, bass and melodic lines, effects and soundscapes, as well as being used as a control voltage source and a powerful analog FX processor.
PULSAR operates in three different modes: standalone, MIDI control and CV control. Moreover, all the above features and control modes can operate simultaneously in any ratio or combination.
Additionally, PULSAR offers live circuit bending capabilities and the ability to use the performer's body conductivity to create patches and cross-modulations. PULSAR continues the line of organic synthesizers begun by the LYRA-8, but now in the percussion arena.
- 4 envelope generators with sustain generation for drum tracks, turning them into noise\drone synthesizers. - 4 independent loop recorders with individual clocking options. They record trigger events, not sound.
- Clock generator with a series of dividers as a very powerful tool for rhythm synthesis.
- Wide range LFO with variable waveform (0.1 - 5000Hz).
- Shaos - A unique pseudo-random generator based on shift registers with 4 independent outputs, sample and hold and other cool features.
- FX processor with CV control, including CV control of the sampling rate of the entire DSP.
- Distortion.
- 2 CV controlled doors.
- 2 VCA with CV control.
- 2 controllable inverters.
It also has many smaller modules like 4 assignable attenuators and 2 dynamic CV sensors for MIDI control and sync and CV generation. Overall, there are 55 knobs, 11 switches and patches, Eurorack integration, external mixing and processing, over 100 inputs and outputs for live circuit bending!
