Castanets are rhythm instruments consisting of two plastic pieces called male and female that are connected to each other. As you can see in the picture, the strings of the castanets , which are sold in pairs, are passed through the middle fingers, and the sound is obtained by holding them in the palms and hitting the palms together in an open and closed manner.
