Switching between true bypass and newly developed ULTRA BUFFER

Not only does the Pitchblack X feature true bypass to output sound exactly as it was input, it also features a built-in ULTRA BUFFER.

Why is this important?

Most electric guitars use passive pickups with a high-impedance output. When using a cable, after about 6 m (about 18 ft.), there is usually a loss of tone at high frequencies, and this problem gets worse the longer your cable is. A buffer boosts the signal over long cables, keeping the signal clean and clear to prevent tone loss even when your pedal is off.

ULTRA BUFFER improves sound quality in bypass mode, so you can maintain sound quality even when you connect a long cable to the tuner or plug the tuner into a complex effects board.

You can switch between true bypass and ULTRA BUFFER with Pitchblack X, depending on your taste and environment.

The metering LED also offers bright mode settings for high visibility.

Along with the enlarged display, more indicator LEDs have been added for superior visibility.

Bright mode (brightness) can be set to one of two levels, so you can be sure to see the tuner screen even better in difficult-to-see situations, such as brightly lit scenes and bright outdoor environments.

Ultra-high tuning accuracy of up to ±0.1 cents

The Pitchblack X offers extremely precise and accurate tuning with an accuracy of ±0.1 cents when in Strobe mode, making it ideal for situations where tuning must be absolutely accurate when performing or recording.

Four measurement display modes

Choose from four types of meter displays to suit your needs. In addition to the typical "Normal" mode, you can use "Strobe" and "Half Beat" modes to show changes in pitch according to the direction and speed at which the meter is flowing, to distinguish even the most subtle differences in pitch; and you can use "Mirror" mode to see the two LEDs on the left and right intersect towards the centre as you tune your instrument

Features a built-in "just in tune" display

The Pitchblack X features a new “just in tune” display feature that causes the triangular LEDs on either side to flash when the tuning is correct, helping to make tuning a stress-free experience.

Rugged body; can also run on battery power

The Pitchblack X is housed in a sturdy aluminum chassis with a scratch-resistant coating. It is powered by a 9V battery, making it ideal for musicians who don't carry a pedalboard, and can also be used with an optional AC adapter if needed.
