Full Spectrum Sound Experience

The opsix mk II is a digital synth like no other. Inspired by the sound engine of the original opsix, the number of simultaneous voices has been increased to an incredible 64. The result is superior performance and precise control.

The Opsix Operator Mixer has simplified FM synthesis for the first time, making it not only understandable but also controllable. The addition of additional synthesis capabilities and programming has enabled a more efficient workflow and an even richer sound.

It is also fully compatible with sounds and samples from both the original opsix and opsix Native software, including a large number of high-quality libraries.

Evolution into the extraordinary 64 voices

The Opsix mk II features 64 voices, twice the original's 32, allowing users to enjoy tone editing without having to worry about the number of simultaneous voices. In addition, the most prominent feature of this product, the operator-mixer section, is highlighted with a new display color, green.

Get Enlightened with Operator Mixer

At the heart of every sound is the Opsix mk II’s Operator Mixer, a simple set of six faders and knobs that invite you to explore. Each one lights up red to indicate carriers and blue to indicate modulators. Tweaking these settings opens up new sound-shaping possibilities to breathe fresh life into your musical ideas. This simple-to-implement workflow is part of what makes the Opsix mk II so unique, as are the sounds it offers.

Direct Acting Controls

Whether you’re tinkering with a preloaded setup or building a sound from scratch, the six data input buttons on the right provide quick access to the parameters you need and sync seamlessly with the large OLED display, giving your workflow a clear, focused direction. Combined with the mixer, it makes creating fresh sounds incredibly easy and, most importantly, fun!

Choose from a wide variety of analog-style filters, from the radical Korg MS-20 low-pass/high-pass filter to the powerful yet smooth KORG Polysix low-pass filter that gives your sound a vintage feel. There are also two- or four-pole low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-reject filters with resonance adjustment.

There's also a built-in spectrum analyzer and oscilloscope that give you visual feedback via the screen about the music you're making.

Six-in-One Synthesis

The core of the Opsix mk II is nothing short of top-notch. Since waveforms can be arranged and modulated in almost infinite ways, the Opsix mk II can easily handle sonic tasks resembling various types of synths:

Subtractive
Removing parts of the sound to achieve the sound you want; The most commonly used synthesis. The Opsix mk II uses up to six envelopes and multi-model filters to achieve many cutting-edge and classic analog synthesis tones.

Semi-Modular
Reroute signal paths to change the sound. A loop in the algorithm section will dramatically reshape the sound by changing the way signal routing between operators works together, and no patch cords are needed.

Analog (Modeling)
Analog-style controls and a wealth of stackable waveforms take you from digital to analog in no time. Enjoy deep bass, crisp leads, thick pad sounds, smooth brass tones, and more.

Waveshaping
Intentional distortion can be added to waveforms to achieve aggressive tones, harmonic or non-harmonic. This will help you achieve bold, punchy tones with full character.

Additive
Putting waveforms together and blending their harmonics is the key to a wide range of harmonious, dissonant and tension-based sounds. With six available operators, a complete FM experience is possible, including the ability to go back in time to classic sounds you've heard throughout recording history.

Classic FM
Finally, the Opsix mk II's extremely flexible and powerful architecture starts with true six-Operator FM. As a result, it easily delivers the signature sounds you've heard on thousands of hits from the '80s to today, with more polyphony than any other standalone FM synth available today.

With all these ways to create and explore sounds, the Opsix mk II is uniquely suited for a "future-modern-classic" synth!

Altered Reality
The Opsix mk II is FM based, but that’s where its similarities to the classic synthesizer end. The Altered FM architecture delivers a wider spectrum of sounds than ever before covered by a single synth thanks to new sound components; new waveforms, filters, shaping, effects, LFOs, envelopes, modulations and more, all adding up to a wide range of sounds.

Powerful Effect Processing
The Opsix mk II provides three blocks of 30 types of high-resolution effects that you can use together to further enhance your sounds. There's everything from a great mix of available standard effects like Choir, Phaser, Delay and Compressor to top-notch bright reverbs that will elevate your sound to the next level.

Polyphonic Motion Sequencing
The Opsix mk II features an incredible step sequencer that rivals groove boxes in terms of flexibility and power. Press PLAY on any sound and experience the complexity of the sequences! You can use the unique sequences stored in each Program or create and modify your own.

You can record up to six notes per step, and edit the velocity, transition time, and playback timing of each note. Create long phrases or make subtle changes to the timing to mimic strums and drum sounds—something not possible with a typical 16-step sequencer. The Opsix mk II’s motion sequencer also lets you record changes to up to six parameters, creating smooth motion changes in the audio within a phrase, or creating rhythms that change dramatically with each step.

Monster Modulation Matrix
The modulation possibilities of the Opsix mk II are truly mind-blowing. With six operator modes and 40 preset algorithms, as well as the ability to create your own algorithm, the Opsix mk II gives you a dynamic range of sound options.

This synth is powered by processors at the end of the signal chain. The MOD section operates separately from the operators, with three EGs and three LFOs, and offers 12 virtual patches for a variety of routing possibilities. Use these features from a wide range of modulations to create atmospheric loops or add rhythmic movement to your sounds.

Dice
If you’re in the mood to explore unexpected sounds, use the Randomize feature. Press the button marked with a dice icon to completely mix up your synth’s parameters and create a new, unique sound. You can use Randomize for all parameters or just operators, algorithms, or sequences.

You may hit gold with your shot, but if you don't succeed, try again or use the result as a starting point for your next new sound.

Free Library Software
opsix Sound Librarian allows you to view and edit data on the Opsix mk II by connecting it to a computer via USB, and transfer sound data between the Opsix mk II and the computer.
