OP-Z
The new generation portable instrument.
OP–Z is a portable 16-channel multimedia synthesizer and sequencer with sample and synth-based sounds. It is the world's first of its kind that lets you sequence music, visuals, lights and more.

The OP–Z can be used completely standalone and comes with an intuitive LED-illuminated interface. When you want next-level real-time visual feedback, use the display in your pocket*.

*currently available for ios, mac and android.

Hardware features include:
USB-C, wireless communication via BLE, 4-pin 3.5mm stereo headphone and line output, accelerometer, user-replaceable battery and built-in microphone.

Component-based step sequencing.

One of the key concepts of OP–Z is the ability to run each track completely independently of each other. Tracks can run at various speeds, have different lengths, and loop points. Individual tracks can bounce back and forth erratically and randomly if you want. Using this, you can make a short sequence sound slightly different each time it’s repeated in your composition. A composition is split into tracks, and each track is built from sequencer steps – just like you’re used to, but we’ve added something truly unique, what we call step components, which add an extra dimension of instructions for each step. This new tool makes building a track much more dynamic, deep, and rich – a long-needed addition to traditional sequencing.

The tracks on the OP–Z are polymetric. That means each track has a dynamic track length of 1 to 144 steps. It allows working at high or low track resolution. You can choose to go completely off-grid or stay 100% quantized. With the OP–Z real-time melodic analysis, you can automatically transpose entire scales to different scales across six octaves.

The OP–Z comes with 16 sample packs, each containing 24 samples.

It is mainly divided into kick, snare, percussion and effects and you can easily add your own samples.

The OP–Z comes with 12 synthesis-based sound engines. More sound engines will be released on an ongoing basis and will be available through the configurator in the OP–Z app. The OP–Z features two separate fx buses shared across all instrument channels.

Internal fx include delay, reverb, bit-crush and distortion.
Future firmware upgrades will expand the OP–Z with even more fx.

Bring your own screen.

Connect the OP–Z wirelessly to a mobile device. Thanks to the extremely energy-efficient BLE technology, your OP–Z will work for hours and sync with your display without needing to charge the unit.

With the OP–Z app, you see the numbers and graphics behind the music you create in real time. At a glance, you know how your instruments are balanced in the mixer or how many effects are applied to each instrument.

The display adds another dimension to your interaction with the OP–Z. By unlocking multi-touch capabilities, you can adjust multiple mixer faders simultaneously or use the soft touch surface to adjust effects or filters. Perfect during live performance!

Pitch Bend and Microphone
On the front of the OP–Z, you’ll find a smooth, pressure-sensitive, thumb-button-style pitch bend. Pitch bend adds an analog touch to any instrument. It’s perfect for those solos!

Raise the OP–Z to your mouth and the accelerometer-activated microphone will turn on. Press and hold the function buttons to change microphone settings.

Designed for live performance.
On the back of your OP–Z, you’ll find the project, mixer, tempo, and display buttons. Holding down one of these buttons will access some of the OP–Z’s main functions.

The Project button lets you choose one of 10 projects to work on your songs. Each project contains 16 patterns, and each pattern contains 8 instrument channels.

The mixer gives you access to a live mixer where you fine-tune the balance of your current track. One-two-three-four – hold to change the tempo, add a click or count-in sound to your track. If you have a display connected, the on-screen button opens the main menu. Select the menu item using the red dial. The on-screen button also activates the microphone.

Press the mixer button to switch between clean audio or two real-time OP–Z fx buses.

Photomatic.
Take a series of photos and sequence them to a beat. Compose a song and create a fully synchronized music video in a minute. The photomatic feature in the OP-Z app is straight up fun!

When you want some fast and unique graphics that are perfectly synced to your beats, turn on photomatic.

Just shoot, add some filters and you have your music video in no time.

Photomatic lets you add up to 10 sequences of 24 images each, which can be arranged using colour dials.

Sequences can be synced to any track while playing live.

Using four color-coded infinite dials, you control everything from synth parameters, filters, effects and levels to an instrument's ADSR shape.

RGB LEDs give you instant feedback on values ​​and functions.

These encoders were specifically designed for the OP-Z to make it possible to maintain the 10 mm height of the unit and provide maximum resolution.

Punch in FX
Punch-in fx is a concept inspired by our pocket operator series where you can add a layer of live performance effects and record them or just use them to enjoy in real time.

In OP-Z, punch-in fx can be programmed separately, just like any other instrument. Punch-in fx is one of the unique features that sets OP-Z apart from a traditional sequencer.

This makes the OP–Z a powerful live performance instrument that expands the possibilities of a pre-programmed part into endless variations.

In the OP–Z application, each punch-in effect has its own visual representation.
