NUX NTU-3 Flow Tune MKII has 4 tuning modes including Chromatic, Guitar STD, Guitar CPS, Bass. Developed for guitarists, NTU-3 includes Guitar STD(Standard) and Guitar CPS(Compensated).
Inspired by James Taylor's tuning style, also known as Compensated Tuning, the method is as follows:

BUFFER MONITOR modes
In FLOW TUNE, you can switch between TB(True bypass), BF(BUFFER) and BFM(BUFFER MONITOR) according to your tastes and environment.
| TB (True Bypass) | When the tuner is bypassed the pedal is a True Bypass circuit which has no effect on your output signal. The output will be muted when the tuner is activated and begins tuning. |
| BF (Buffered Bypass) | When the tuner is bypassed, the output signal is driven by a Buffered Bypass circuit. The output will be muted when the tuner is activated and begins tuning. |
| BFM (Buffered Bypass Monitor) | The signal is driven exactly as in Buffered Bypass mode and the output remains unmuted whether the tuner is enabled or disabled. |
Why is BUFFER mode important?
Most electric guitars use high impedance output passive pickups. When using cables, there is a noticeable loss of tone, usually at higher frequencies, after about 6 m (about 18 feet), and this problem gets worse the longer your cable is.
A Buffer boosts the signal over long cables to prevent tone loss, keeping the signal clean and clear even when your pedal is off.
BUFFER improves sound quality in bypass mode, so you can maintain superior sound quality even when using a long cable to connect to the tuner or placing the tuner in a complex effects board.
With BUFFER MONITOR mode you can even listen to all the notes you play in real time.
