While synthesizers are first and foremost musical instruments, learning becomes easier and more intuitive if we can use our eyes to support our ears. Examining waveforms, frequency and time relationships, audio signals and control voltages becomes clearer and more immediately understandable if we can see how they change and interact with the sound, not just listen to what they do. 4 CHANNEL OSCILLOSCOPE

Dual stereo inputs let you work with up to four signals simultaneously, easily comparing and overlaying them. A variety of display modes let you see your data in color—a huge advantage over the old oscilloscopes you see in sci-fi movies! The user interface is clear and fast, thanks to dedicated menu buttons and a clickable encoder button, and the 2.8-inch color LCD with 240 x 320 pixels is a pleasure to view.

The NTS-2 even has a powerful Lissajous mode, opening the door to creativity and making it possible to visualize commonly available oscilloscope art for extra fun with your device.

FFT / SPECTRUM ANALYZER

To dive deeper into analyzing any signal, the NTS-2 features a dedicated FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) mode with a real-time Spectrum Analyzer. These handy tools have always been hard to come by for the synth musician, requiring expensive hardware or a computer. Now you can have them all in your pocket!

DUAL WAVEFORM GENERATOR

The NTS-2 is much more than just an oscilloscope. The flexible Wave Generator mode features 2 oscillators with dedicated outputs so you can test your synth hardware or get creative! Each oscillator can generate a variety of waveforms (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, pulse and noise) that can be adjusted in shape and phase to suit a wide range of applications.

These sounds can be used in the audio range or as a control voltage source, and can be set to loop continuously or act as one-shot pulses, meaning you can turn these waveforms into LFOs, Envelopes, Triggers, and Control Voltage Generators, as well as audio sources. Connecting the NTS-2 to any patchable synth instantly increases its power in useful ways, making it an analog synth player's dream tool.

CONNECTIVITY AND EASE OF USE

Despite its small size, the NTS-2 offers a variety of ways to connect to your studio. Along with 4-channel input and dual waveform output, dual stereo THRU/OUT ports allow you to leave your hardwired system with a stable connection. It’s much easier to understand what you’re doing if you see the signals and use them instead of constantly plugging and unplugging cables. This handy feature allows you to maintain your signal flow at all times, even when the NTS-2 is powered off.
