Introducing the modwave module - all the features of the modwave mkII in a compact 19" desktop/rack mount package.

modwave builds on the legacy of KORG's DW-8000 and transforms it into a modern beast of a synth, offering incredibly deep wavetable oscillators, incredible filters, extremely flexible modulation, unparalleled polyphony, extensive patterning, and instantly gratifying on-the-fly control to deliver unique, powerful, and easily customizable sounds and expressions.

60 polyphony voices, updated LFOs, and more

Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module offers a staggering 60 stereo polyphony voices - almost double the original modwave's 32 and an unprecedented number for a wavetable synthesizer at this price point. The new 4U rackmount case features the same controls as the keyboard models, plus it's easily portable and fits neatly into any studio or desktop production system.

In response to user requests, we've updated all LFOs with free-running, delay-start, and retrigger options. We've also added a pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources, and more. A software update for the original modwave will also be available.

The modwave module is fully compatible with the sounds and samples of the original modwave, modwave mk II and modwave native software, as well as many excellent third-party libraries.

MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange and Polyphonic Aftertouch support

With the latest software updates, all modwave models now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange in hardware and software, and provide easy access to Polyphonic Aftertouch, allowing them to be perfectly controlled via KORG's Keystage model.

Rack-Mount and Desktop

The Modwave module is cleverly designed for both desktop and rack mount. The panel has been redesigned to fit a standard 19" width, and the rear jack panel is recessed to allow easy access to cables, even with hardware mounted directly above it. For desktop setups, the brackets offer a variety of panel angles: flatter for standing performance, or more upright for working while seated in your studio.
