Unique user experience
The microKORG2 retains the iconic one-knob genre selection for intuitive sound browsing and five dedicated editing buttons for quickly manipulating your chosen parameters. The concept of bank selection has been expanded with a new categorization system, including Classic, Modern, and Future, to help you capture the changing sounds of each era.
The microKORG’s control panel has been given a vibrant makeover with a 2.8” color display. Edit sounds visually with animated parameter guides and fine-tune stress-free with five knobs always clearly visible. Want to see the impact your edits have on your sound? With a single touch, the display turns into an oscilloscope, letting you watch your sound come to life.
Bridging the gap between power and playability, microKORG’s revamped interface unlocks advanced sound editing with surprising ease. Familiar to experts and intuitive for beginners, this interface lets you explore sonic boundaries without losing microKORG’s signature workflow.
Newly designed vocal processor
The original microKORG was known for its vocoder, which could be easily used with its dedicated microphone, and this was one of the reasons why its popularity has not faded.
The microKORG2 takes this concept a step further, introducing an entirely new, powerful vocal processor. In addition to vocoder effects, this new vocal processor features industry-standard hard-tuning tone-correction effects and a harmonizer that lets you use the original vocal sound by tone-shifting and layering. You can also apply reverb, delay, and other effects to the vocal processor's signal output.

Inspiring loop recorder
The new microKORG features a loop recorder that lets you create background recordings by looping and adding to sections of music. This makes it the ideal tool for spontaneous live performances. Three dedicated buttons—record, play/stop, and undo/redo—make loop recording incredibly simple for everyone.
Recording and playback settings can be conveniently changed via easily accessible dedicated menus, so every musician can start making music right away.
Of course, the microKORG wouldn't be complete without its built-in, easy-to-use arpeggiator.

Travel back in time with new synth sounds
Expanding on its iconic sound palette, the microKORG2 offers a genre-based Category and Bank selection that provides quick access to an incredibly diverse range of sounds across classic, modern and future categories. Genre-based Category and Bank selection allows users to quickly find sounds suitable for any genre without having to go through endless and tedious preset browsing. Three Banks offer eight types of Categories, with each category containing eight preset Programs; users can also save up to 64 Programs in the User Bank for their own personal favorites.
The microKORG2 is a virtual analog synthesizer that models analog circuitry. One of the features of a virtual analog synthesizer is that there are no physical restrictions on how the circuitry can be laid out, giving the user a lot of leeway in creating their own sounds, allowing you to go beyond classic, modern and future eras.
The microKORG2 offers virtual patch functionality in a compact form and includes patch functions that users are already familiar with when creating sounds using analog circuits.
You can quickly and easily create deep, detailed sounds while controlling patch layouts via the on-screen graphical interface.
The iconic design of the microKORG has been updated with a modern look
The basic design of the case, control panel layout, green printing, button shape and other iconic microKORG features have been retained, but the design has been modernized.
The new, massive 2.8-inch color display sits in the middle, with the entire control panel positioned one level lower to give you a more in-depth experience of creating and playing sound.
The body is painted in an elegant metallic colour that complements the three-dimensional shape, while the side panels are finished with a stone-like black textured coating for durable, safe and long-lasting use.
Greatly improved effects
In order to expand the range of synth sounds as much as possible, Korg has developed three different effect series, including nine new modulation types (with dynamic effects), six different delay and reverb types. These three effect series can be turned on and off independently, and the wet/dry ratio of the effects can be adjusted separately.
The signal is routed through the effects and output to a two-band parametric EQ with adjustable low and high frequency bands so you can adjust the final character of the sound. With the new microKORG, users can create sounds from start to finish without the need for an external mixer or effects processor.
Small but easy to play, natural touch mini keyboard
With the microKORG2, we adjusted the distance ratio between the black and white keys so you can play chords more easily. It’s a “natural touch mini keyboard” designed for playing fast passages. The box-style keys provide a high-quality feel, making it easy to play glissandos.
The 37-key keyboard features a well-placed octave shift button, which can be invaluable for live performances, allowing you to focus on your playing without fiddling with settings.
Performance on the go
The microKORG2 is just 54.2 cm (21.3 in) wide and weighs 2.1 kg (4.6 lbs; excluding battery and microphone), making it very easy to carry. The instrument can be powered by the included AC adapter, but it can also be powered by six AA batteries, giving you the freedom to play the microKORG2 anywhere.
