In the punk rock world, there are few guitarists as revered as Lars Frederiksen, the legendary guitarist of the influential band Rancid.
With the LTD Volsung-200, ESP and Lars are opening up the look, feel and energy of this guitar to even more players.
Inspired by the double-horn ESP Viper body style, the Volsung is further streamlined, making the guitar's lightness ideal for energetic live performances and long recording/writing/jam sessions. Crafted with a 24.75" scale set-neck construction, it pairs a mahogany body with a three-piece mahogany neck.
The Volsung-200 features a roasted jatoba fingerboard with dot markings and 22 extra-jumbo frets. Black chrome hardware is finished in Black Satin. Components on the Volsung-200 include LTD tuners, LTD tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece, and the acclaimed punchy ESP Designed LH-150 passive pickups (with custom black chrome covers and exposed poles) in the bridge and neck positions. Unlike most Viper models, the Volsung-200 has three control knobs; a volume control, tone control, and pickup selector for each pickup.
