When a piezo transducer is connected to a standard input impedance, an uninspiring sound is often encountered. The output level of the piezo transducer will remain relatively high and will have a higher impedance than the instrument input and the mixing console. This prevents the transducer from delivering its potential output signal and limits the non-transient response. In addition, the high impedance of the piezo transducer, combined with the capacitance of the outgoing cable, creates a low pass filter, which is negative for high frequency response. The BigAmp piezo version is designed to eliminate these problems. It offers the opportunity to use its full potential with its 5 Mega Ohm input impedance. The signal (3dB) is very low to provide the highest headroom. Finally, due to its small size, it can be used very close to the transducer, thus minimizing capacitance. The green dot under the logo indicates that it has a piezo feature.
